Man chased, robbed by 4 men
WINDER - A man reported to police that he had been chased by four men for four days who beat him and a friend up and stole their money.
The man was walking on New Street May 1 at 8:36 p.m. when four black men in a white Nissan four-door chased him, according to a police report. When they caught him, they allegedly hit him and stole $150.
The man told police the same four men had followed him in a Ford Explorer the day before. Previously, the men beat up a friend and robbed him, but the friend lied to the hospital staff about how he got his injuries, according to the police report.
Woman accused of biting boyfriend
WINDER - A woman who allegedly bit her boyfriend was charged with domestic violence battery.
Gina Rosbury, 19, of Buford was pulled over after her boyfriend waved down a police officer and said that his girlfriend had just assaulted him, according to a police report.
The boyfriend said the car Rosbury was driving, a white Ford Explorer, the report said. When Rosbury exited the vehicle, the report said, she was crying.
Rosbury told police she and her boyfriend got into an argument, and he tried to get out of the vehicle. She reportedly grabbed him by the shirt to keep him in the vehicle, and bit him out of frustration.
Rosbury was arrested, then handcuffed when she became combative, according to the report. When police searched her vehicle, they found methamphetamines and marijuana. Rosbury was charged with possession of methamphetamines, possession of marijuana and domestic violence battery.
Several area accidents result in minor injuries
WINDER - Two people were sent to the hospital after an accident at Ga. Highway 11 and Punkin Junction Road. The accident was April 27 at 6:54 a.m. One person was transported to the Barrow Community Hospital with minor injuries, while the other was taken to Athens Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
Three vehicles were involved in an accident on Ga. Highway 211 in Winder at 5:02 p.m. April 29. There were minor injuries.
In Bethlehem, an accident on Christmas Avenue blocked the road April 29 at 7:06 a.m. Two vehicles were involved in the accident. Three people refused medical assistance, and a fourth was transported with minor injuries.
A pickup truck went off the road in Bethlehem April 27 at 5:48 p.m. The truck had a motor in its bed that fell out onto Ga. 11 and Ga. Highway 316, spilling oil onto the road. It was neutralized with sand.
Buford man allegedly tries to stab girlfriend
BUFORD - A Buford man was arrested Friday after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend and tried to stab her with a pair of scissors.
Ronnie Johnson, 31, got into an argument with his girlfriend while she was taking a bath at a house on Fresian Court. He grabbed an electric clock and tried to throw it into bathtub, according to police reports. Then Johnson got a pair of scissors and tried to stab his girlfriend, the report said.
Next Johnson tried to choke his girlfriend with an electrical cord, but the woman was able to hold the cord back to prevent being strangled, police reports said. The girlfriend told police Johnson threatened to kill her, her sister and her nephew.
He was charged with aggravated assault.
Man charged with first-degree forgery
DULUTH - A Union City man dressed as a woman was caught trying to pass a fraudulent check Monday at the PetCo at 2131 Pleasant Hill Road.
A cashier at the store called police to report three men in women's clothing were trying to purchase gift cards with phony checks. The employee said the suspects had been in the store before for the same purpose.
Two of the cross-dressing suspects escaped before police could arrive, leaving behind their alleged co-conspirator, 18-year-old Kenneth Nelson. Nelson tried to write a check from a nonexistent bank using the female alias "Tracy Arnold," according to police reports.
He was charged with first-degree forgery and giving a false name.
Man robbed at Golf Club
NORCROSS - A Dunwoody man was robbed at gunpoint Sunday while leaving Heritage Golf Club at 4445 Britt Road.
The victim was putting his golf clubs into the back of his vehicle when a man approached and pointed a silver handgun at him. The suspect demanded the victim's keys, cell phone and wallet.
The thief then fled in the victim's vehicle, an older model black Land Rover.
Man on bike hit by vehicle
A man was hit on his bike by a vehicle about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Steve Reynolds Boulevard and Indian Trail Road. Officer Darren Moloney, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department, said the man was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center and will be OK. Two witnesses, not related, saw the incident.
