LAWRENCEVILLE - Sometimes laughter is the best medicine.
Some are using humor to deal with their feelings regarding the case of the runaway bride. Anything to make a buck.
On Internet auction site eBay in the category "weird stuff" and "historical memorabilia" at 6 p.m. Monday the bid was up to nearly $40 for "The Original Jennifer Wilbanks Runaway Bride Kit." The kit includes hair color, scissors, a copy of the original movie starring Julia Roberts and a fake clip of hair.
Folks are also peddling copies of the original flier that was distributed upon Wilbanks' disappearance as well as a copy of Wilbanks' and John Mason's gift registry list at Target.
T-shirts and running shoes are also up for bid.
Seller "Oldstuffnow" was up to $20 at 6 p.m. Monday for a piece of toast with Wilbanks' likeness. Under the heading "Jennifer Wilbanks Runaway Bride Found On My Toast," the New Jersey seller said he's had more than 3,500 inquiries on his item.
And finally, someone has posted Wilbanks' profile on the dating site Match.com, listing her hometown as Duluth and her hobbies as jogging and traveling.
