Saari takes ninth in AJGA Mizuno Junior at Chateau Elan
Parkview senior Michael Saari tied for ninth in this past weekend's Mizuno Junior at Chateau Elan, a prestigious
American Junior Golf Association event. The tourney was shortened to 27 holes by weather.
Saari shot 76 in the first round and fired a 35 in the nine-hole final round on Sunday for a 111 total, four shots off the winning total of David Holzworth of Chapel Hill, N.C. Kimberly Donovan of Hopkinton, Mass. won the girls title with rounds of 69 and 38.
North's Gruber inks with Georgia Southwestern
North Gwinnett senior Hannah Gruber has signed a soccer scholarship with Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus. Gruber, a stopper and center midfielder for the Bulldogs, is one of North's team captains.

Tennessee hires Milwaukee's Pearl as hoops coach
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Bruce Pearl was introduced as Tennessee's basketball coach Monday after leading Wisconsin-
Milwaukee on a surprising run through the NCAA tournament.
Pearl took 12th-seeded Wisconsin-Milwaukee to the round of 16 this year for the first time in the program's 109-year history.
Tennessee failed to make the NCAA tournament in four years under coach Buzz Peterson, who was fired March 13 after a 14-17 season. The Vols' last tournament appearance was 2001.
''I have complete confidence that he will take our program to the next level,'' university president John Petersen said.
Tennessee gave Pearl a five-year contract and will pay him $800,000 a year, plus bonuses. Pearl made between $275,000 and $300,000 in base salary at Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Utah's Bogut to enter NBA draft
SALT LAKE CITY - Utah center Andrew Bogut will enter the NBA draft, forgoing his final two years of eligibility to possibly become the No. 1 choice.
''I have no regrets and full-speed ahead,'' the 7-footer from Australia said at a news conference Monday.
Bogut, the leading vote-getter on the AP All-America team, averaged 20.4 points and 12.2 rebounds while leading the Utes to a 29-6 season, which ended with a loss to Kentucky in the regional semifinals.
Two Busch crew chiefs fined
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - NASCAR Busch Series crew chiefs Steve Plattenberger and Elton Sawyer were each fined $500 Monday for violations discovered during the opening inspection for the weekend's race at Nashville Superspeedway.
Both Plattenberger, crew chief for Tim Fedewa, and Sawyer, crew chief for Kasey Kahne, were penalized by NASCAR for using lug nuts that had not been approved.
