Robert McNeely, left, of Boy Scout troop 548 in Snellville, and Bobby Piper, of troop 599 in Grayson, salute the flag during a ceremony to kick off the 5th annual American Values dinner on Thursday at the Gwinnett Civic Center. The event is held to raise money for the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America and to hand out the Boy Scout distinguished citizen awards. This year's winners were John D. Stephens, Jones Webb and Virgil Williams. The keynote speaker was Ralph Reed. About 300 people attended the dinner which was chaired by David Seago of Georgia Power and Roger Willis of Jackson EMC.More like this story
