More medical offices on the way to Lawrenceville LAWRENCEVILLE - New medical offices keep rising across this city. Cardiovascular Group P.C. is the latest to announce it will expand to another location in Lawrenceville. Dr. Manfred Sandler, part of the 15-member doctors group, led a ground breaking ceremony Tuesday for the new 31,000-square-foot project on Walther Road. It will be the flagship building for Cardiovascular Group P.C., which also has offices in Fulton and Forsyth counties. Over the past year, new Lawrenceville medical offices have also been launched in the commercial district surrounding Gwinnett Medical Center on Wellness Way. Lawrenceville Mayor Bobby Sikes, also on hand for the ceremony Tuesday, said the city continues to expand its health care options. "I can remember when we had only three doctors in this town - and I knew every one of them," Sikes said. "It's so good to have more medical people here. One day, I hope we can have heart surgery in this town." Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce to present 2005 economic forum The Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce will present its 2005 Economic Development Forum on Thursday. The event, held at Gwinnett Technical College's George Busbee Center, brings together the economic leaders from the county's public and private sectors. The forum, which lasts from 7:30 a.m. to noon, will cover the top economic development issues facing Gwinnett County. Discussions will include a county economic outlook, the emerging biosciences/technology sector and work force development. state Marine Corps awards $4 million to FATS Inc. ATLANTA - FATS Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a contract valued at more than $4 million from the U.S. Marine Corps for new virtual training systems as well as spares and components to support their currently fielded systems.
