Four rob restaurant
NORCROSS - A man in a Halloween mask accompanied by three women wearing handkerchiefs over their faces robbed the Goom Ba restaurant at 2040 Beaver Ruin Road on Thursday.
The suspects entered the restaurant at midnight and approached the bar. The male robber displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register. The suspects also ordered six patrons to hand over their valuables, according to police reports.
Witnesses said the thieves fled to an alley behind the strip mall and disappeared.
Man throws pliers, hits resident in the head
NORCROSS - A Norcross man was struck in the head by a pair of pliers Wednesday outside his residence at Willow Trail Parkway.
The victim was returning home at
7 p.m. when a gray Chrysler Cirrus came around and blocked his car. The driver, an unidentified Hispanic man, appeared to be angry with the victim for unknown reasons, according to a police report. He threw a pair of pliers at the victim, striking him in the back of the head and causing a small gash.
The driver then got back into the car and left. The victim told police he didn't know why the suspect was mad at him but said he may have seen him in the past. The victim was able to write down the license plate of the suspect's car.
Man claims 'friend' accidentally stabbed him
NORCROSS - A 31-year-old Norcross man who arrived at a local hospital Wednesday with a knife wound claimed he had been stabbed accidentally by a friend.
The victim said a friend was showing him some martial arts tricks with a steak knife in the parking lot of his Northern Ridge Way apartment complex. The friend accidentally stabbed the victim in the side, collapsing his lung, police reports said.
The victim claimed he didn't even realize he had been stabbed until he got home. He told an officer he didn't know what apartment building the stabbing occurred in front of, and he only knew the friend's first name - "John."
Police were investigating several inconsistencies in the victim's story.
