LAWRENCEVILLE - Lawrenceville attorney John L. Welsh II is serving a 12-month suspension from the practice of law in Georgia.
The Georgia Supreme Court ruled that Welsh's suspension begin on April 26. Welsh pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass and was sentenced to 36 months of probation, a $1,000 fine and an agreement with the State Bar of Georgia not to practice law for one year. According to court records, Welsh was working on a divorce case and attempted to aid his client in gaining access to marital property that his client was legally entitled to under the settlement agreement between the two parties. Welsh refused to comment on the situation when contacted by the Gwinnett Daily Post. The State Bar of Georgia also would not comment on the situation.More like this story
