Buford's Pridemore commits to play for Duke

Buford tailback/defensive back Matt Pridemore verbally committed to accept a football scholarship from Duke University.

He informed the Duke coaches, which includes head coach Ted Roof of Lawrenceville, on Thursday.

Pridemore was a starting defensive back for the Wolves in 2004, though he missed some games due to shoulder surgery. The 6-foot, 185-pounder has excellent speed and placed in three events at the 2004 state track meet. Pridemore was third in the 200-meter dash, fifth in the 400 and fifth in the 1,600 relay.

He is the son of Tom and Leigh Pridemore. Tom played for the Atlanta Falcons for eight years.
