Lil' Kim files suit against two who testified in trial

NEW YORK - Lil' Kim has filed a $6 million lawsuit against one of the two men who gave wounding testimony at her recent trial on perjury and conspiracy charges.

Lil' Kim was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for lying to a federal grand jury about her involvement in a 2001 gun battle outside a Manhattan radio station.

Farrow defends director in trial

LONDON - Mia Farrow defended film director Roman Polanski in his libel trial, denying a claim by Vanity Fair magazine that he tried to seduce a woman days after his wife's brutal murder.

Polanski is suing Conde Nast, the magazine's publisher, over a 2002 article that said he seduced a woman at a New York City restaurant while on his way to the funeral of his wife, Sharon Tate. Tate, who was pregnant, was killed by followers of serial killer Charles Manson in Los Angeles in August 1969.

Ashanti accused of abandoning former producer

NEW YORK - Ashanti was accused in a civil court case of abandoning her first music producer when he asked for money after she became commercially successful, an allegation she denied.

Genard Parker released Ashanti from his contract with the understanding that he could produce two songs on her first album and receive a $50,000 advance plus royalties, his lawyer said.

Two successful albums that sold more than 6 million copies mean Ashanti owes Parker millions, the lawyer said.

Colin Farrell tries to stop release of sex tape

LOS ANGELES - Actor Colin Farrell is suing a woman for allegedly trying to distribute and profit from a sex tape he says the two recorded with the agreement it would never be made public.

The lawsuit seeks monetary damages and a temporary restraining order and injunction prohibiting the sale or other use of the videotape.
