Man charged with DUI
LAWRENCEVILLE - A Lawrenceville man was arrested Monday an charged with driving under the influence, improper lane change and failure to maintain lane.
After receiving a call from another motorist who reported erratic driving, police arrived at the Walgreens at the intersection of Ga. Highway 120 and Riverside Parkway and reportedly found Dariush Tehrani, 53, slumped over his steering wheel, parked in the middle of two spaces and was unresponsive, according to police reports.
When the police were able to gain Tehrani's attention and asked him how much he'd had to drink, Tehrani replied "a lot" and began laughing hysterically, according to police reports.
When asked to perform field sobriety tests, Tehrani yelled, "Let's do it," the reports said.
When asked to perform the walk and turn test, Tehrani again yelled, "Let's do it," according to reports.
When people in the Walgreens parking lot stopped and began laughing, Tehrani reportedly became embarrassed at first and then began laughing back at the patrons.
After failing to perform the tests to satisfaction, Tehrani was arrested.
NORCROSS - A woman was carjacked at the Church's Chicken on 6111 South Norcross-Tucker Road about 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to police reports.
The victim reported she arrived at work and when she stepped out of the car a black man, about 6 feet tall, approached her and demanded her keys.
The victim said no, at which point the suspect pulled out a small gray handgun and demanded the keys again, the reports said.
After giving the man the keys, the suspect reportedly told the victim to get in the car with him.
The victim again said no, and the suspect drove off.
The victim was driving a green Jeep Grand Cherokee.
