Mr. Alvin “Lonzo” Samples, age 67, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and O'Dessa Bullock Samples; Sisters, Snowdell Mathis, Audrey Mathis, Mary Holcombe, and brother, Junior Samples. Surviving are: Wife of 32 years: Mrs. Patsy Green Samples, Buford, GA. Daughters and Sons-in-Law: Peggy and Lamar Green, Buford, GA, Rita and Wayne Allen, Buford, GA, Mary Ann and Joseph Hulsey, Jasper, GA, Lori and Trent Duncan, Lexington, SC, Elaine Samples, Norcross, GA. Sons and Daughter-in-Law: Douglas and Denise Samples, Braselton, GA, Billy Ray Samples, Jasper, GA, Brian Samples, Young Harris, GA, Blake Samples, Flowery Branch, GA. 21 Grandchildren: 15 Great-Grandchildren: Sisters and Brothers-in-Law: Lola and W.T. Boyd, Lawrenceville, GA, Dovie and Lewis Perry, Suwanee, GA, Martha Givens, Flowery Branch, GA. Brothers and Sister-in-Law: Twin Brother, Monroe Samples, Cumming, GA, James and Shirley Samples, Dawsonville, GA. Sister-in-Law: Grace Samples, Cumming. Mr. Samples was a native of Forsyth County, GA. He was a steel worker with U.M.C.O. Steel in Lawrenceville, GA. He was a member of the Buford Church of God. Funeral service will be held o Sunday, January 9, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. at the Buford Church of God with Rev. Emory Samples and Rev. Edward Davenport officiating. Interment in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Arrangements by Flanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Buford, GA. 770-932-1133.
