Mr. Rodney W. Hammond age 59 of Monroe, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 1, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. His strong will to live left a lasting impression on friends, new and old. He was a devoted family man and golfer. He was employed 37 years with A T & T, Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies offices and longtime member of Monroe Golf & Country Club and member of Saint Alban's Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Hammond of Monroe, Mark (son) and Susie (daughter-in-law) Hammond of Bethlehem, Tina (daughter) and Art (son-in-law) Ames of Dacula, and grandchildren, Cody, Kayla, and Corey Ames, all of Dacula. There will be a memorial service at Saint Alban's Episcopal Church in Monroe on Tuesday, January 4th at 3 PM. Father Frank Wilson and Father Dann Brown will officiate.
