Mr. Charles Larry McNeal, 58, of Talmo and the Belmont Community, died Thursday February 10, 2005 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 14, 1946, in Gainesville, GA, the son of Howard and Evelyn Smith McNeal of the Fairview community. A native of Jackson County, Mr. McNeal graduated from Jackson County High School, and attended Young Harris College and the University of Georgia. He served in the Georgia National Guard and was an avid fisherman. Mr. McNeal had a poultry farm in Jackson County, was a residential builder in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, and was a member of the Johnnie's Hill Masonic Lodge. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home Saturday, February 12, 2005 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and 6:00 until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Belmont Baptist Church on Sunday February 13 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Bill Compton and Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Dan McNeal, Alan Dunaway, Phil Henderson, Randall Smith, Ronnie Martin, Roger Smith, John Hudgins, and Tony Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Drew Brock, Josh Dunaway, Matthew McNeal, and Christopher McNeal. Interment will be in Belmont Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. McNeal will receive Masonic Rites at the Interment. Survivors other than his parents include his wife, Nan Kinney McNeal of Talmo; one son and daughter-in-law, Trevor and Rhonda McNeal and two grandchildren, Savannah and Triston McNeal of Haymarket, VA; two stepchildren, Drew and Maggie Brock of Lula, GA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jerri and Alan Dunaway of Suwanee, and Debra and Phil Henderson of Snellville; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dan McNeal and Martha Honeycutt of Fairview; a niece, Kari Dunaway; and three nephews, 2nd LT Matt McNeal and his wife Kathryn, Chris McNeal, and Josh Dunaway.
