Two men arrested in kidnapping

NORCROSS - Two men were arrested Friday in connection with the violent kidnapping of a 22-year-old woman from her Norcross apartment.

Eduardo Castillo, 22, Judith Correa, 23, and Alejandra "Melissa" Martinez, 22, were at Martinez's apartment about 6 a.m. when there was a knock at the door.

When Martinez answered the door, her boyfriend, 28-year-old Sebastian Reyes, and another man reportedly forced their way inside at gunpoint. Police believe Reyes took Castillo's cell phone and necklace and then dragged Correa from room to room by her hair.

Reyes allegedly stomped on Martinez's face before forcing her to leave with them.

Over the next six hours, Reyes made several phone calls from his girlfriend's cell phone to her friends and family stating he would return with her, said Officer Darren Moloney, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department. A trace on the cell phone and

information provided by Martinez' family members led police officers to a house at 946 Worcester Place in Norcross.

There they arrested both Reyes and his friend, 19-year-old Angel Escobar Rivera. Inside the residence authorities also recovered Martinez safely and took back personal items belonging to Castillo. A handgun allegedly used in the home invasion also was seized.

The victims were being interviewed at Gwinnett police headquarters on Friday afternoon, Moloney said. Investigators did not know at press time if there was any history of violence between Reyes and Martinez.

Martinez suffered minor injuries from the alleged kidnapping; however, she did not require medical attention.

Rivera and Reyes are charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault. More charges are pending, according to police.
