Shiloh boys place third at tourney

DOUGLASVILLE - Shiloh cruised to a 72-44 win over Alexander on Friday to place third at the Kessler Holiday Hoops Classic.

Johnathon Griffin and Malcom Robinson each scored 11 points for Shiloh.

Shiloh (8-3) lost to Douglas County 75-67 on Thursday night and was led by Robinson, who had 16 points.


Norcross 55, St. Anthony's 52 OT

Norcross advanced to the finals with a win late Thursday night over St. Anthony (N.J.), 55-52 in overtime. St. Anthony tied the game with 1.6 seconds left in regulation to send it to overtime but in the extra period, Norcross took control.

Brenton Butler led Norcross with 21 points in the semifinal win, while Gani Lawal had 16 points and seven rebounds.


Hoover (Ala.) 72, South Gwinnett 65

HOOVER, Ala. - Despite 26 points from Emily Clarke, the South Gwinnett girls fell to Hoover (Ala.) 72-65 on Friday in the championship game of the Hoover Big Orange Classic. The Comets (9-2) also got 12 points each from Gia Lockett and Mandi


Clarke, Lockett and Alex Winchell made the All-Tournament Team.

Shiloh 54, Chapel Hill 42

DOUGLASVILLE - Shiloh had four players score in double figures to beat Chapel Hill 54-42 at the Kessler Holiday Hoops Classic at Alexander High School on Friday.

Courtney Strauthers led Shiloh with 13 points, Caneisha Bell and Lauri Coward each had 11 and Amanda Parker scored 10.

Shiloh finished 2-1 at the tournament and is 8-3 overall for the season.
