The Augusta Lynx used two goals in the first five minutes of the third period to get by the Gladiators 4-3 on Tuesday night at the Augusta Richmond County Civic Center.
Gwinnett jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Guillaume Desbiens' eighth goal of the season. Taking the puck away from an Augusta defenseman along the goal line, Desbiens was able to backhand the puck past Lynx netminder Jason Wolfe for the tally.
Scott Mifsud extended the Gladiators lead to 2-0, picking up a rebound off the back dasher board and flipping it past Wolfe 11:15 into the first period.
Augusta cut the Gladiators lead to a goal late in the first period as Brian Passmore slid past the Gladiators defense and beat netminder Adam Berkhoel from point blank range.
Brian Passmore tied the game at 2-2 deflecting Corbeil's slap shot from the point past Berkhoel for the tally. The power play goal came with just 25 seconds left in the opening period.
Scott Kelman regained the lead for the Gladiators on the power play 3:23 into the second period. Taking an outlet pass from Danny Eberly, Kelman beat Wolfe on a breakaway for the tally.
Ken Scuderi tied the game at 3-3 for the Lynx just 1:39 into the third period. Scuderi was able to backhand a shot past Berkhoel from the top of the crease for the tally. Anthony Battaglia picked up an assist on the tally.
Battaglia then picked up the game winner ripping a slapshot from 35 feet out past Berkhoel for the tally 4:56 into the third period.
Gwinnett pulled Berkhoel late in the third period but couldn't get another one past Wolfe in the final minute. Berkhoel finished the game with 23 saves in the loss for the Gladiators as Gwinnett's unbeaten streak was halted at seven games.
