booth robbed

•SNELLVILLE - An unidentified man on Thursday robbed the Kroger store at 4002 Stone Mountain Highway.

The manager and a clerk were inside the gas booth when the suspect came inside and produced a gun. The robber told the women to get down or he would kill them, according to a police report.

The employees were forced to put money in a plastic Circle K bag. The suspect ran away. He is described as a thin black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall wearing a black ski mask and a grey hooded sweatshirt.

Man shot in hand during robbery

•NORCROSS - A 25-year-old man was shot in the hand during a burglary attempt last week at Wesley Paces apartments off Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

Garcia Gobani Beltran told police that a man known to him as Rodriguez Alvarado fired the shot while stealing $500 from him on Dec. 4. Officers searched the apartment and found another victim lying on a bed in a back bedroom, according to police reports. That man had been severely beaten.

Both men were hospitalized. The incident may be gang related, the report said.
