Prep roundup: Moss leads Norcross girls to win

LOGANVILLE - D'Andra Moss scored 21 points, grabbed four rebounds, had four steals and two assists as Norcross downed Grayson 59-42 Saturday.

Jasmine Goodwin scored 12 points and two assists for the Blue Devils (4-2) and Nicole Jones added seven points and two assists.

Michelle Quinn led all scoring for the Rams with 14.

Dacula 56, Centennial 42

DACULA - Brittany Jarrard scored 24 points leading unbeaten Dacula to a 56-42 win over Centennial Saturday.

Eve Machovec added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Falcons (7-0).

Wesleyan 76, Chattahoochee 32

ALPHARETTA - Carolyn Whitney had 16 points 12 assists, seven rebounds and seven steals as Wesleyan defeated Chattahoochee 76-32 on Saturday. Kelley Hall finished with 13 points for the Wolves (5-1), Amaris Wilson added eight points and Elise Whitney chipped in with eight points and three assists.

GAC 57, Cartersville 51

NORCROSS - D'Nay Daniels had 12 points and Bria Smith finished with 10 points as Greater Atlanta Christian defeated Cartersville 57-51 on Saturday.

The Spartans improved to 5-1 overall.

Central Gwinnett 54, Mill Creek 43

HOSCHTON - Amber Kirkpatrick scored 17 points, helping Central Gwinnett defeat Mill Creek 54-43 on Saturday.

Dria David and Ashley Taylor both added 12 points for the Black Knights (4-2).

Shelby Poole was the leading scorer for the Hawks scoring 14 points and adding nine rebounds.

Hebron 80, Commerce 36

DACULA - Meredith Montgomery scored 30 points, including four 3-pointers and Landon Johnson added 15 points as Hebron Christian defeated Commerce 80-36 on Saturday.

Britt Pecht added eight points and seven rebounds and Amy Herald finished with seven points and six rebounds for the Lions (6-1, 1-0).

Providence 48, Union County 44

LILBURN - Providence hit 17 of 22 free-throws in the last 11 minutes - including 8 of 9 in overtime - as the Stars edged Union County 48-44 on Saturday.

Carli West led Providence with 24 points. Casey Flowers added eight points for the Stars (5-3, 3-0).

North 51, Berkmar 47

LILBURN - North Gwinnett defeated Berkmar 51-47 Saturday.

Jolie Efezokhae finished with 15 points for the Bulldogs (5-1) and Kiara Evans led all scorers for the Patriots (5-1) with 13 points.

Newnan 56, Meadowcreek 35

NEWNAN - Newnan defeated Meadowcreek 56-35 Saturday. Genea Williams led the Mustangs (1-4) with 14 points.

Shiloh 65, Stockbridge 48

STOCKBRIDGE - Jessica Baker had 22 points and five steals and Lauri Coward added 12 points and 12 rebounds as Shiloh downed Stockbridge 65-48 Saturday.

Courtney Strauthers added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Generals (4-0) and Caneisha Bell finished with nine points and five assists.

Collins Hill 78, Northview 26

DULUTH - Collins Hill defeated Northview 78-26 on the back of Maya Moore's double-double Saturday.

Moore finished with 18 points, 19 rebounds, six steals and six assists for the Eagles.

Shantell Black had 14 points and three rebounds and Brittany Cade added 12 points and five rebounds for Collins Hill (2-0).

Buford 66, Flowery Branch 51

BUFORD - Buford remained undefeated with a 66-51 win over Flowery Branch on Saturday.

Vicky Wilson and Shannon Wilson both had 17 points to lead the Wolves (7-0). Victoria Peevy added 12 points and Sarah Scott finished with 11 points for Buford.


Shiloh 44, Stockbridge 42

STOCKBRIDGE - Andre Mikell had 12 points and Jay Gatlin added eight points helping Shiloh edged Stockbridge 44-42 Saturday.

The Generals record improved to 3-1 overall.

Chattahoochee 51, Wesleyan 49

ALPHARETTA - Chattahoochee converted on a 3-point play with 11 seconds remaining to beat Wesleyan 51-49 Saturday.

Howard Thompkins led the Wolves (4-2) with 25 points and 14 rebounds.

Hebron 77, Commerce 64

DACULA - Daniel Lampl finished with 25 points as Hebron Christian defeated Commerce 77-64 on Saturday. Ben Cowen added 13 points for the Lions (2-4).

Loganville 59, Apalachee 44

WINDER - Clivins Volcy scored 24 points and Jordan Lutz added 12 points as Loganville defeated Apalachee 59-44 on Saturday.

Joe Ruiz led Apalachee with 13 points.

The Red Devils' record improved to 3-3 overall.

Collins Hill 57, Northview 55

DULUTH - Antron Pippen scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Collins Hill edged Northview 57-55 Saturday.

Joe Johnson added nine points for the Eagles (3-2, 1-1).

Central Gwinnett 57, Mill Creek 50

HOSCHTON - Sam Goodman scored 20 points, Richard Howell added 14 points and Jahmeik Tarver finished with 10 points as Central Gwinnett beat Mill Creek 57-50 on Saturday.

Spencer Gay led the Hawks with 14 points and eight rebounds. Chase Anderson added 11 points for Mill Creek.

Berkmar 43, North Gwinnett 39

LILBURN - Berkmar earned its first win of the season defeating North Gwinnett 43-39 on Saturday.

Patrick Shopeka led the Patriots (1-4) with 14 points and Ben Sharp chipped in with scoring nine points.

Adam Demuyakor led the Bulldogs with 16 points.

Buford 72, Flowery Branch 50

BUFORD - Mark Swanson scored 19 points and Terrance Birdette finished with 11 points as Buford beat Flowery Branch 72-50 on Saturday.

Cam Sherman added 10 points for the Wolves (3-0).


Buford finishes fifth at Flowery Branch Invite

BUFORD - Buford finished fifth out of 10 teams at the Flowery Branch Invitational dual meet on Saturday. Habesham Central won the overall team championship.

The Wolves had five wrestlers who finished first in their respective weight classes: Scott Forrester (130), Nick Harford (140), Daniel Stephens (145), Chris Harford (171) and Wesley Dodd (275).
