Gwinnett Daily Post
DULUTH - There must be something in the water in Gwinnett County because Georgia lottery success certainly lives here. Friday afternoon Judy Slone from Norcross became the second Gwinnett county resident in two weeks to win the Georgia Lottery twice.
A friend gave Slone a $200 Million Cash Spectacular instant game ticket for her birthday, and she won the game's $1 million top prize. In October 2004, Slone won $27,777 playing the instant game Silver 7's. J Food Mart at 3175 Buford Highway in Duluth sold the million-dollar ticket. Slone, 57, an electrician, plans to purchase a new car and pay bills with her winnings. "And I'm going to buy something special for my friend who gave me the ticket as a birthday present." Just two weeks ago, Fred James Jr. of Duluth was awarded a $750,000 top prize on the holiday-themed instant game Jingle Jumbo Bucks. In February 2004, James won $50,000 on the instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic. Georgia Lottery President Margaret DeFrancisco said people do have lucky streaks but it seems there are many lucky people in Gwinnett.More like this story
