SUWANEE - Greater Atlanta Christian improved to 11-3 with a pair of wins over Chattahoochee (25-15, 25-20) and Central Gwinnett (25-17, 19-25, 25-9) Tuesday night at Peachtree Ridge High School. The Spartans were led on defense by D'Nay Daniels with 10 kills and Ashley Agin with nine kills. Jennifer Godleski added 12 digs and Christie Howard led the team in assists with 33.
Central improved its record to 7-5 by defeating Peachtree Ridge 25-8, 25-16. Karen Green amassed nine kills, three blocks and three assists for the Black Knights while teammate Amber Kirkpatrick had four kills and three blocks. Peachtree Ridge ended its night with a 26-28, 25-19, 25-14 defeat over Chattahoochee. Amanda Kerr had seven kills and six aces for the Lions while Jasmine Johnson had five kills. Lindsey Ajala finished with four kills and four blocks while Sarah Bernard and Nicole Louchard had nine and four assists, respectively. VOLLEYBALL Brookwood defeats Norcross, Mill Creek SNELLVILLE - Brookwood's Leah Kitchen led the Broncos with 27 assists as the Broncos swept past Norcross (25-8, 25-17) and Mill Creek (25-18, 19-25, 25-23) Tuesday. Shannon Parry had eight aces for the Broncos (10-3) and Paige Ivey compiled 16 kills and 12 digs. Mill Creek salvaged a split with a 25-9, 25-10 sweep over Norcross. Emily Clayton led the Hawks (11-4) with 34 digs while Dominique Jackson had 17 kills. Parkview beats Sprayberry CANTON - Parkview defeated Sprayberry on Tuesday night (25-19, 25-12) but fell to fifth-ranked Sequoyah (15-25, 21-25). Parkview was led by Jessica Geiger with three blocks, 23 kills and five digs while Maggie Dean had four blocks, eight kills and five digs. Regina Lewis led the team with 12 assists and two blocks while Marissa Hicks had six kills and three digs. The win improves Parkview's record to 9-3 on the year. Hebron downs South, Winder-Barrow DACULA - Hebron evened its record at 7-7 Tuesday night with a pair of wins over South Gwinnett (25-21, 20-25, 25-19) and Winder-Barrow (22-25, 25-12, 25-19). Amy Herald had 21 kills for the Lions, Madelyn Hosch added four kills and two aces while Whitney Smith served four aces. South was led by offensively by Jenny Hester with six assists, Nellya Zaystev with 23 assists and four blocks and Amy McEachin added five blocks defensively. South Gwinnett earned a split on the night by defeating Winder Barrow (25-17, 20-25, 25-19). Jenny Hester and Nellya Zaystev both had five aces. Nellya also had 18 assists while Amy McEachin had 10. Killian Hill sweeps Forest Hills LILBURN - The Killian Hill volleyball team swept past Forest Hills on Tuesday by the scores of 25-14, 26-24, 25-7. Allyson Trine had 17 kills and 15 assists, Lauren McMahan had eight aces and seven kills and Catherine Petersen had five aces and four kills. Killian Hill is now 3-0 on the season. SOFTBALL Hebron 8, Social Circle 0 SOCIAL CIRCLE - Nichole Smith pitched a two-hitter on Tuesday as Hebron Christian defeated Social Circle 8-0 in Region 8-A action.
