Blockbuster employee charged with theft
NORCROSS - The manager of a Norcross Blockbuster at 1260 Tech Drive was arrested Monday on charges of stealing from the company.
Ernest A. Brito III, 27, of Duluth reportedly exploited a company policy to refund the $25 monthly charge for an unlimited movie rental pass when a customer doesn't use it. Brito looked up customer accounts where refunds were unclaimed and then credited the refund to himself, according to a police report.
Brito admitted to the theft, but he said he felt like the company owed him money because he was a hard worker with a new baby at home and he had been passed over for a promotion, according to police reports.
He was charged with computer theft.
