GRAYSON - Mill Creek improved to 6-0 with a 23-25, 25-23, 25-20 win over Grayson and a 25-14, 25-5 win over Duluth on Thursday. Heather Burns finished with 40 assists, Olivia Day had 20 digs and Tiffani Bennett added 10 aces for the Hawks.
Host Grayson split its matches, defeating Duluth 25-6, 25-11 losing to Mill Creek. Ashley Hagan had 15 assists, five aces and three kills, Brittany Lewis finished with eight kills, five digs and two aces and Julie Callihan added six kills and two blocks for the Rams (4-1). VOLLEYBALL Brookwood downs Providence LILBURN - Leah Kitchens had nine aces and 41 assists leading Brookwood to a 25-22, 25-20, 19-25, 26-24 win over Providence on Thursday. Paige Ivey also played well for the Broncos (2-1), finishing with 14 kills and five blocks. Kristy Garland finished with five blocks and four kills for the Stars and Casey Macke added seven kills, four blocks and two aces. Collins Hill beats Walton, St. Pius DACULA - The Collins Hill volleyball team remained unbeaten by defeating Walton and St. Pius on Thursday. In the first match, The Eagles topped the Raiders 25-18, 25-20 and then took the night cap 25-18, 25-19 over St. Pius. Katie Winschel finished with 12 kills and nine digs and Samantha Lum also finished with 12 kills and added seven digs for the Eagles (5-0). Jessica Davies chipped in with 10 kills. Raven Tirado had 20 assists and Kelsey Foster added 16 assists for Collins Hill. Central tops Columbia, loses to Dunwoody DUNWOODY - Central Gwinnett split against two DeKalb County schools on Thursday. The Black Knights defeated Columbia 25-6, 25-8 but were beaten by Dunwoody 22-25, 25-23, 17-25. Amber Kirkpatrick finished the 16 kills and three blocks for the Black Knights (2-2). Parkview wins opening matches LILBURN - Parkview won its first two matches of the season, defeating Holy Innocents' 21-25, 25-17, 25-15 and Centennial 25-8, 23-25, 25-22 on Thursday. Jessica Geiger had 11 aces, 11 digs and two kills, Regina Lewis added 12 assists and Maggie Bean finished with 11 digs, four aces and four kills for the Panthers. Wesleyan beats Berkmar, Lovett ATLANTA - Wesleyan defeated Lovett 25-12, 25-21 and downed Berkmar 25-4, 25-18 on Thursday. Rachel Galloway had nine digs, eight kills and five aces for the Wolves while Katie Brown finished with seven kills and four aces. Paige Cain added six kills for Wesleyan (9-1). GAC stays unbeaten ATLANTA - Greater Atlanta Christian improved to 4-0 with a 18-25, 28-26, 25-13 win over Pace Academy and a 25-20, 15-25, 25-19 win over Chattahoochee on Thursday. Christie Howard had 27 assists and six aces, Jennifer Godleski had 16 digs, Ashley Agin added 15 kills and Caroline Germany finished with nine kills for the Spartans. SOFTBALL North Gwinnett 3, Kennesaw Mountain 0 SUWANEE - In a game delayed 30 minutes due to lightning, Jessica Batten pitched a complete-game shutout, giving up only three hits as North Gwinnett topped Kennesaw Mountain 3-0 on Thursday. Christie Thompson was 2-for-3 with and RBI and Kristina Melts added two hits and two RBIs for the Bulldogs (6-1). Peachtree Ridge 12,Norcross 4 NORCROSS - Peachtree Ridge defeated Norcross 12-4 Thursday.
