Where: The Business Park at Sugarloaf, located on Sugarloaf Parkway near the Arena at Gwinnett Center

What: Duke Realty will put a three-story, 80,000-square-foot office building on this site. The project has no tenants yet, but Duke said demand was so strong it felt confident enough to go ahead with the development. Vacancy rates are low in the hot Sugarloaf Parkway office market.

When did construction start: The land is cleared but Duke will probably break ground on the building in November

Portrait Homes is building 130 townhomes and Southeastern Property is building 76 two- and three-bedroom condos on Ga. Highway 120 and Purcell Road. The development will be called Orchards of Sugarloaf Parc.

At least 160 single-family homes are being built by Kalidescope Land Development on New Hope Road one mile east of Simonton Road.

A new upscale nightclub will renovate the now-closed Georgia Theater Company movie theater outside of Gwinnett Place Mall.

Hedgewood Properties is building nearly 160 residential units within walking distance of downtown Norcross on Thrasher Street near Rock-Tenn. Co.

Sage Software is building its regional headquarters on North Brown Road next to BioLab Inc.
