790 The Zone wants new nickname for Francoeur

According to an Atlanta radio station, Braves' hot shot rookie Jeff Francoeur needs himself a new nickname, because "Frenchy" just isn't cutting it.

Sports Radio 790 The Zone announced on Friday morning a Web site campaign that will give listeners a chance to change the Parkview grad's nickname.

Apparently the station, and the rest of the nation for that matter, isn't aware of the moniker he earned during his playing days in Gwinnett County, where he became known simply as "Superman."

At any rate, all entries should be submitted to the Internet site www.ilovefrancoeur.com , which also includes a photo gallery of the Lilburn native, as well as articles and statistics.

The entries will then be collected and presented to Francoeur for final selection. The nickname winner will take home a grand prize including, but not limited, to: Tickets to an upcoming Braves game, an autographed official Francoeur jersey, T-shirts from the Rome, Mississippi and Richmond Braves, CDs of Francoeur's favorite musician, George Strait and a certificate to Francoeur's favorite restaurant in Lilburn.

There is no word yet whether an autographed red cape and blue suit will be included in the package as well.
