Mrs. Leila Faith “Faye” Ellington, age 72 of Conyers, GA died of cancer in the lungs and brain. She fought this battle with indescribable courage and determination. The family wants to thank Dr. Jay Srinivasiah and her wonderful staff at DeKalb Medical for providing such excellent care during her illness. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. Luke and Maggie, her grand kids were the apple of her eye. She loved Jesus and her church and was a member of Snellville First Baptist Church. Always when there was a need she wanted to help. Her husband, Sidney Ellington of 47 years, wants to thank all the people who extended their love and kindness during this sad time. She was also survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Scott and Cathy Ellington of Snellville; Brian and Melita Ellington of Conyers; sisters and brothers-in-law: Pauline and Willie Jordan of Lavonia; Christine McGallen and Jim Shubert of Lavonia; LouAnn and John Bennett of Athens; Shirley Keen of Stone Mountain; Sandra and Hal Burroughs of Lavonia; Lynn and Ben Sanders of Canon; brother and sister-in-law: Joe and Lula Bell Bradley of Canon; grandchildren: Lucas, Maggie and Corey; 9 nephews and 9 nieces. Mrs. Ellington was retired from Sears after 39 years of service. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22 at 11 am at Wages Snellville Chapel with Dr. Russ Shinpoch, Rev. Howard Ramsey and Dr. James G. Merritt officiating. Interment at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8pm at the funeral home.
