No team scores were kept at Saturday's Mill Creek Track Classic, but that didn't keep the Collins Hill girls and boys from walking away like they were champions. The Eagles set a pair of school records, with Karena Shell clearing 10 feet, 9 inches in the pole vault and the boys distance medley relay team turning in a time of 10 minutes, 34 seconds.
The Eagles' girls team also got a personal record from Erin Guglielmo in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:17.64. Collins Hill also received individual wins from Jackie Drouin in the 3,200 (11:21.29) and from Nicole Okolo in the 100 hurdles (14.57). Collins Hill also won the 400 relay with a time 49.32, the 3,200 relay with a time of 10:09.42 and the 6,400 relay with a time of 23:58. Norcross' Lauren Burns was a double winner, taking the 100 in 12.39 and the 200 in 24.98, while Meadowcreek's Brittany Hall won the 400 with a time of 56.75. Other local girls winners were Dacula's Eve Machovec in the discus (132-31D2) and Berkmar's Samara Gosha in the 300 hurdles (45.36). On the boys side, Collins Hill got individual wins from Jesse Marino in the 1,600 (4:21.59) and Pierre Turner in the discus (161-0) and also got a win from the 3,200 relay team, which ran 8:20.52. Norcross' Bilal Abdul-Mateen won the triple jump (42-3) and ran on the winning 1,600 relay team, which turned in a time of 3:25.27.
