LAWRENCEVILLE - Improvements will be made to the stadiums at Mill Creek and Peachtree Ridge high schools if the Gwinnett County Board of Education approves loans for the two Thursday.
Mill Creek High would receive a loan for $1 million to build visitor's seating, softball and baseball dugouts, concession stands and a softball/baseball hitting facility. Peachtree Ridge will receive a loan for $742,636 for practice field lights, a softball/baseball press box and concession stands.
If the board approves the loans, which appear on the consent agenda, both schools will be responsible for paying back the money over a 12-year period, according to Gwinnett County Public Schools documents. The additions will be paid for out of local school funds.
