Mr. Chris Stephens, age 31, of Sugar Hill, Ga passed away on April 8, 2005 doing something he loved although bravely fighting the effects of heart disease and related complications. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy and Shannon Underwood and Clifford Stephens, and Step-Father, Tony Williams. Surviving are: Wife of 10 years: Mrs. Becky Stephens, Sugar Hill, GA; Son: Spencer Stephens, Sugar Hill, GA; Mother: Sharon and husband Russell Stephens, Buford, GA; Father: Charles and wife Linda Stephens, Winder, GA; Brothers: Chuck Stephens and Janice Knight, Sugar Hill, GA; Deston Stephens, Athens, GA; Grandmother: Mrs. Doris Stephens, Buford, GA; Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Stephens was born in Fulton County, GA. He was employed with Global Payments, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. He was a graduate of South Gwinnett High School, class of 1992 and was a member of Perimeter Presbyterian Church in Duluth, GA. He was a rare “GA Native” and not so rare “Dawgs” fan who had a passion for life itself and praised God for his abundant blessings daily. He gave everything his spirit had to his most prized passion, his 17 month old son while managing to give 200 per cent to his wife, family, his work, his friends and his hobbies of cooking and reading. Funeral service will be on Monday, April 11, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Brand and Rev. Jerry Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Chris Stephens.
