Four armed men invade Norcross home NORCROSS - Six residents at 4454 Freedom Lane were robbed at gunpoint Sunday after intruders broke into their house looking for drugs. The victims were all sleeping at 1 a.m. when four armed suspects kicked in a side door. The men yelled "Where is the cocaine?," according to police reports. The robbers then forced residents into an upstairs bedroom while they ransacked the house, stealing their money, cell phones and wallets. The intruders then returned to the bedroom and demanded drugs again. The residents said they did not have any, police reports stated. The robbers pistol-whipped three of the men and then left in a white Dodge van according to police reports. Duluth police stopped a van matching the description shortly after the robbery, but the occupants of the vehicle fled. Police are investigating the incident. Hollywood Video robbed DULUTH - An unidentified black man on Sunday snuck up to a clerk and robbed the Hollywood Video store at 3705 Old Norcross Road. The suspect entered the store 10 minutes after a female employee opened the business at 10 a.m., according to police reports. He locked the door behind him and approached the girl while she was on the phone. The man then covered the clerk's mouth and told her not to look at him. He handed her a bag and told her to fill it with money, police reports stated. The suspect fled in a gray Mitsubishi Galant, which he had parked in a handicapped space in front of the doors. The victim told police the suspect had a 1-inch Afro and said he seemed to be calm and well-educated. Dacula SunTrust robbed by man in motorcycle helmet DACULA - A white man wearing a motorcycle helmet on Monday robbed the SunTrust bank in Publix at 2463 Hamilton Mill Parkway. The suspect came into the store at 11:13 a.m., approached a teller and handed over a note stating "I will shoot, give me $20s and $50s," according to police reports. The robber handed over one empty dark blue bank bag and placed another bank bag on the counter. The teller noticed the outline of a pistol in the bag on the counter and saw that the suspect was holding his hand in the bag as if holding the gun. The teller filled the other bag with an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled. The robber is described as a white man with a large build wearing gray sweatshirt, a motorcycle helmet with the visor down and sunglasses over his eyes. He also wore suede gloves, police reports stated. Federal agents are analyzing the bank's surveillance video. Barrow High winds knock phone, power lines across county WINDER - Telephone lines and power lines fell as a result of high winds April 2. At 10:52 a.m., a phone line fell onto Carl Cedar Hill Road in Auburn. Barrow County Fire and Emergency Services were called to the scene. A telephone line was reported down at 11:27 a.m. on Mount Moriah Road, and another line was reported down on Carl Cedar Hill Road at 2:54 p.m. A tree fell on a power line on Grove Lane Drive in Winder at 4:18 p.m. On March 28, phone lines were reported down across the road on Mulberry Circle in Winder at 5:03 p.m. A homeowner pulled the lines out of the roadway. Tree falls on mobile home WINDER - A tree fell on a mobile home April 2 at 1:54 p.m. There were no injuries in the Eastbrook Drive home. Fire personnel turned off the power and removed the tree. Falling tree starts fire WINDER - A tree fell on a power line March 29, starting a fire. The tree fell at 3:21 p.m. on Smith Sisters Road.
