ABC's Koppel leaving 'Nightline' at end of the year

NEW YORK - Ted Koppel, who has anchored ABC News' ''Nightline'' since its inception 25 years ago, said Thursday he will leave when his contract expires at the end of the year.

''Nightline'' began as a series of special reports during the Iranian hostage crisis in November 1979 (originally anchored by Frank Reynolds) and became a regular newscast the following March.

Spears lashes out at tabloids after baby rumors

NEW YORK - Tired of pregnancy reports, Britney Spears is lashing out at tabloid magazines.

Rumors have recently swirled that the 23-year-old pop star is pregnant and that her marriage to Kevin Federline is on the rocks. Spears didn't specifically address either issue, but instead asked magazines for some self-examination.

Anderson joins M.A.C. AIDS Fund ad campaign

NEW YORK - Pamela Anderson is the newest face of the VIVA GLAM V lipstick and lipgloss, the primary fund-raising tools for the M.A.C. AIDS Fund.

The actress joins the roster of the lipstick advertising campaign that includes Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, among others.

The company says 100 percent of the sales of the lipgloss and lipstick directly benefits the fund.

NBA's James sponsoring bike ride fund-raiser

AKRON, Ohio - LeBron James is turning his workout regimen into a fund-raiser.

The Cleveland Cavaliers star likes to work up a sweat by cycling around Akron. This summer, James will sponsor a charity bike-a-thon in his hometown.

Riders will pay $25 to participate and will be asked to solicit pledge donations.
