J. C. Rev. J. C. Mitchell, age 76 of Auburn went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 5, 2004. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Mildred Mitchell Butler, Father, Guy Mitchell and Step-Father, Alvin Butler and Brother, H. E. “Red” Mitchell. A devoted husband and father, whom was loved very much, Mr. Mitchell is survived by his loving Wife of 56 years, Rosa Bailey Mitchell, Son, Greg Mitchell, Auburn; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Joan & Bruce Patton, Lawrenceville, Judy & Jeff Ride, Loganville. A loving Paw Paw to his Grandchildren: Kim Sudduth, Beth Nash, Amanda and Nicole Patton, Allison & Brian Franklin and Taylor Ride, Great Grandchildren, Kyle & Levi, Jamie & Logan, Morgan, Trey, and Tucker. Other Family members include Sister & Brother-in-law: Guy & Qullion Butler, Sister, Florence Masters, Sister-in-law, Jewette Mitchell, Dacula; Step-Sisters, Sue & Milton Turner, all of Auburn; Charlotte & Buford Smith, Oakwood; Step-Brother: James Earnest & Hilda Butler, Charleston, S. C. and Several Nieces & Nephews. A retired Minister who lovingly served God at Bethel Baptist Church, Bethlehem, Georgia from 1967 to August, 1978 and Hog Mountain Baptist Church, Dacula, Georgia from January, 1979-1991. J. C. preached his first sermon on October 9th, 1960 at Union Grove Baptist Church, Auburn and was ordained in October 1967. He was also retired from the food service business, and chicken industry. Flowers are accepted or in lieu of flowers, memorials to Union Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 5472 Fence Road, Auburn, Georgia 30011. Funeral Services will be held 4:00 PM, Sunday, November 7, 2004 at the Union Grove Baptist Church, Auburn with remains placed in state at 3:30 PM. Rev. Larry Wynn, Rev. Chris Gaddis, Rev. John King, and Rev. Alan Hall will officiate. Interment will follow in church cemetery.
