SUWANEE — Police identified the motorcyclist killed in a Thursday crash near North Gwinnett High School as 53-year-old Thomas Haugh, of Suwanee.

The accident happened about 11:30 a.m. on Suwanee Dam Road, adjacent to a school driveway. Haugh, who was riding a 2007 Kawasaki KL650, died at the scene, police said.

Police believe Haugh was northbound on Suwanee Dam Road when the driver of a southbound 2009 Honda Civic turned into his path in an attempt to enter the school’s driveway.

Haugh was thrown from the motorcycle and fatally injured, said Gwinnett police spokesman Officer Brian Kelly.

A preliminary investigation has determined the Honda driver to be at-fault, but charges are pending a more complete study of the scene, Kelly said.
