BISHER: Braves go through struggles, but luck keeps them in first place

Last Updated: 8:34 PM 08/28/10 - Let’s begin at the beginning. It’s spring. The Braves need a first baseman, when they could have had Adam LaRoche, but he was too expensive. So they re-tool Troy Glaus, who has been a third baseman all his life, hand him a first baseman’s mitt and play ball. (Full Story) |

BISHER: Curry giving his all to GSU football

Last Updated: 8:22 PM 08/23/10 - Bill Curry has snapped an oblate spheroid to Bart Starr at Green Bay. And to Johnny Unitas at Baltimore. Played in Super Bowl games with them both. And at the age of 68, had come to that point in life that called for a graceful retirement. Unless, of course, he chose to take a page out of the career of Joe Paterno. So it was the latter. BISHER: Bunker fiasco gives Johnson a raw deal

Last Updated: 6:47 PM 08/17/10 - Never have I seen a bunch of grown men, whose profession is golf, make a mockery of one of America’s classic championships. Last Updated: 6:54 PM 08/16/10 - There was enough plot for a movie in the look on Chipper Jones’ face. Last Updated: 8:08 PM 08/07/10 - There is little that excites me about watching people retire. You know, everybody is full of good cheer — some with good reason, some applauding inwardly. Sometimes there’s a gold watch and all is positive. Nothing more depressing than your own retirement, which in my case was little more than switching gears. (Full Story) |
