THE BLITZ: Another great season of football 0 Comments Last Updated: 6:35 AM 12/14/09 - Buford added to the trophy case with its third straight Class AA state title on Friday at the Georgia Dome. It was the exclamation mark to another great year of Gwinnett County football. (Full Story)
THE BLITZ: Buford back in state finals for seventh state title 7 Comments Last Updated: 8:10 PM 12/06/09 - It's the final week of the high school football season and Buford is one of 10 teams in the state left playing. That's become a regular theme for the Wolves this decade. Buford will play in its eighth state championship game on Friday against Calhoun in the Georgia Dome. (Full Story)
THE BLITZ: Still in shock from Friday 3 Comments Last Updated: 5:28 AM 11/30/09 - I never would have thought Gwinnett County would lose all three of its Class AAAAA teams in the quarterfinals. Even more shocking, Class A juggernaut Wesleyan went down. That leaves just Buford to carry the torch for Gwinnett County in the playoffs. (Full Story)

Which is why when I think about the quarterfinals of the state playoffs the day after Thanksgiving this week, I'm thankful to be covering another week of football. You know what I'm talking about. As a player if you have a good game or the team gets a big win, you want to do everything the same for the next week's game. Or when you put on your best clothes to go out to a party. You know what I'm talking about. It gives that little confidence boost, makes you feel good.
